Privacy Policy

This document sets out the policy of Toyota Technical Center Asia Pacific Australia Pty Ltd ("Toyota Technical Center Australia") on its handling of personal information.

Personal Information

This Policy applies to personal information held by Toyota Technical Center Australia. Generally, this information will be collected from the candidate directly but it may also be collected from referees. Use and Disclosure

Toyota Technical Center Australia will only use or disclose personal information for the purpose for which it was collected or in accordance with the Act (e.g. where the candidate has consented or where it would be reasonably expected to occur).

Security

Toyota Technical Center Australia will endeavour to maintain a secure system for storing personal information. Technological and operational policies and procedures are in place to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised modification or disclosure. Access and Correction

Subject to some exceptions that are set out in the National Privacy Principles, candidates/employees may access the personal information held about them. To apply for access to personal information:

* Fill out a Personal Information Request Form.
* Identify yourself in such a way that your identity can be verified.

Usually, you will be required to provide some form of photographic identification (eg drivers licence or passport), although you may be asked to provide additional identification.

* Send the form to Toyota Technical Center Australia's Privacy Officer.
* Toyota Technical Center Australia will endeavour to provide you with a response within 30 days.

Access may be provided by way of inspection, taking notes or giving a copy or printout of the information. Depending on the circumstances, you may be charged for:

* Staff costs involved in locating and collating information;
* reproduction costs; and
* costs involved in having someone explain information to an individual.

If you believe that your personal information is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, you may write to Toyota Technical Center Australia and request corrections. Your request will be dealt with in accordance with the Act. If your request is refused, you may ask Toyota Technical Center Australia to associate your request with the information.

Complaints

If you feel aggrieved by Toyota Technical Center Australia's handling of your personal information, you may make a complaint to the Privacy Officer. Your complaint will be investigated as soon as possible (but no later than 5 business days) and you will be provided with a written response. Alternatively, you may make a complaint to the Privacy Commissioner (although the Commissioner may decline to hear the complaint if you have not first made a complaint to Toyota Technical Center Australia).
